Seaweed, with a few fragments of driftwood and litter, accumulated on the north beach during mid-summer. At any time of the year winds and storm waves can deliver large quantities of both natural and manmade debris that clutters the beach and makes it very time-consuming to find seabird corpses washed ashore.
