Chasing Wild Horses. 2008. TV Documentary, 50 minutes. Directed by Matt Trecartin, Arcadia Entertainment Inc. Suite # 301, 6454 Quinpool Road, Halifax NS B3L 1A9.

Note: This documentary was aired on April 6th, 2008, on Bravo! It is about photographer Roberto Dutesco and his personal and artistic relationship with the Sable Island horses. The use of the word “chasing” in the title might make one think that it involves some disturbance of the Sable Island horses. However it is quite the opposite. The title arises from Roberto’s attitude regarding the horses. As he told his Arcadia colleagues, his approach is to wait, to settle into the landscape, and to watch quietly, letting the horses get used to him and photographing them as they play, sleep, graze etc. As Roberto said “If you chase wild horses, all you see is their butts.”
