Green-winged Teal with young in early June. This species nests occasionally on Sable Island. Young broods were seen in summers of 1989, and 1992 through 1995, with the greatest number of ducklings (24) noted in 1994. Green-winged Teal have been seen on the island in all months but February and March, with large flocks of 30 to 40 birds present during September and October.
