White-winged Dove, October 19 1999.  This is a southwestern species, usually nesting, singly or in large colonies, in mesquite, mature citrus groves, riverside woodlands, and saguaro cactus desert areas.  This species is "casual" along the Atlantic coast, north to Nova Scotia.  "Casual" is a category of abundance used for species that do not occur annually, but over the long-term have turned up often enough that a pattern of occurrence is discernable.
