Between October 29th and November 14th, twelve dead Laughing Gulls were found on Sable Island. However, most of the corpses found after November 3rd were not fresh, and those birds had likely died within a few days of the hurricane. The number of dead Laughing Gulls found after Hurricane Wilma is greater than the total number of Laughing Gull corpses found in the monthly beached bird surveys conducted on the island since 1993.
