A Common Tern (first winter) dead on Sable Island. Between October 29th and November 12th, six corpses of this species were found on the beach. This is greater than the total number of Common Terns found in the monthly beached bird surveys conducted on the island since 1993. However, six is still a rather low number considering how many presumably storm-weary terns were on and around the island following Hurricane Wilma.
