Sandwich Terns have not been previously recorded on Sable Island. Live sightings and dead birds indicated that at least fifteen were on or around the island during the week following Hurricane Wilma. Although ten dead Sandwich Terns were found on the island, no fresh corpses were seen after October 31st.
