A Western Kingbird Tyrannus verticalis on the north beach, May 4. Since 1982 there have been four records: July 20 1982, May 2 and September 13 2005, and October 21 2006. This vagrant species – a bird of the Western Plains – is a regular straggler in fall and early winter, turning up along the east coast from the Maritime Provinces southwards.
