Barn Swallow Hirundo rustica, October 26. Since 1986 >600 have been recorded. They are seen in all months from March to October, with 35% occurring in May, and 30% in August. The earliest bird was on March 23 after a big storm, the latest on November 17. A nest found in an old building in March 2005 suggested that a pair had at least attempted to nest during the previous year. Breeds in Nova Scotia, and throughout most of North America.
