Ruby-crowned Kinglet Regulus calendula standing on a horse skull, April 18. Since 1991 >120 birds have been recorded on Sable, mostly in April-May (54%), and September-October (44%). Also, three birds occurred in early November. The earliest was on April 18, and the latest November 6. It eats mostly insects. Breeds in coniferous forests, in Nova Scotia and throughout much of Canada, and winters in the southern USA.
