A Northern Fulmar Fulmarus glacialis grounded on the beach in late April. Individuals and small groups are seen flying and feeding offshore, usually at the west and east tips of the island, during March-June, and September-November. Fresh corpses found during the beached bird surveys indicate that live birds are also in the Sable area during December through February. Only a small proportion of the beached fulmars are oiled. |
