A Yellow-crowned Night-heron Nyctanassa violacea – wet and bedraggled, standing in lee of a Station building. Following gales and hurricanes, it is not unusual to find an "arrival" of various vagrant herons. For example, aAfter a few days of heavy winds and rain in mid-October 2002, birds found included a Green Heron, a Little Blue Heron, a Snowy Egret, and a Great Egret, as well as this soggy night-heron. |
