The possible Great Skua (or Brown) of May 1996. Great Skuas have been seen live on and near Sable, mostly during October through January, and have been found in the beached bird surveys. In the North Atlantic, it breeds mostly in Scotland, Iceland and the Faeroes, and winters off western Africa and, to a lesser extent, in the western Atlantic, usually well offshore, rarely in sight of land.
