During the sealift, supplies are usually transported from ship to Sable Island by helicopter. CCG has a number of different rotary wing aircraft, and this year used a Messerschmitt-Bolkow-Blohm 105, a helicopter which can carry sling loads of up to 450 kg. Once all supplies were delivered, and the “backload” was completed, the helicopter flew to East Light to pick up the materials at the fuel drum clean-up site.
