Once the last load had been delivered to the CCGS Edward Cornwallis, the helicopter returned to pick up the CCG personnel, and with the annual sealift completed, and everyone aboard, the ship weighed anchor and headed back to the Canadian Coast Guard base in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia – a 12 hour sail from Sable Island.
