Yellow rattle Rhinanthus crista-galli (Figwort or Snapdragon Family - Scrophulariaceae) in July. The name crista-galli means "cock's comb" and refers to the deeply toothed bracts (leaves at the base of the flower). This species is an annual and is found in grassy heath areas on Sable Island. |
