Woolly yarrow (a.k.a. milfoil) Achillea millefolium (Aster Family - Asteraceae) in early August.  This plant is aromatic, having a fragrance similar to sage, and is thought to have healing properties.  The genus - Achillea - is named after the Greek warrior Achilles who is said to have discovered its properties.  Yarrow is a perennial, blooming in July to September - on Sable Island yarrow flowers are seen as late as early November.
