Seaside goldenrod Solidago sempervirens (Aster Family - Asteraceae) in late September. The genus name is from the Latin "solido", to make whole, alluding to the reputed medicinal properties of the plant; and sempervirens means evergreen. It is a perennial which blooms in late August and September on Sable Island.
