Pearly everlasting is a perennial, blooming in August and September.  It grows singly and in colonies in shrub heath and beach grass areas on Sable Island.  This species is common throughout Nova Scotia, and North American range is Newfoundland to Minnesota, south to New England, and in northwestern regions of the continent.
