Blue-eyed-grass Sisyrinchium angustifolium (Iris Family - Iridaceae) in late July on Sable Island. It is a small grass-like plant - 10-20 cm tall - with tiny violet-blue flowers (about 1.5 cm wide) each having a yellow eye in centre - `yellow-eyed-blue-eyed-grass'. The flowers on each plant usually open one at a time.
