On Sable Island, wild rose blooms throughout the summer, and is found in most of the island's inland areas - in both lush heath and sandy beach grass habitats. This species is common in Nova Scotia, and in North America occurs from Newfoundland to northern Ontario, and south to Alabama and Missouri.
