A blind female grey seal and her pup. Seals, blind in one or both eyes, but apparently well-fed and otherwise healthy, have been seen repeatedly in the Sable Island breeding colony. This suggests that a combination of the senses, and not just sight, is used by seals in navigating, foraging, and predator avoidance.
