The front cover of the Pit Pony CD features the photo of a Sable Island mare presently alive and well on the island—she had her first foal in spring 2008. This young horse, shown in early April and still in her winter coat, was chosen for the cover because she most closely resembles Joyce’s mind’s eye image of her Pit Pony character.
