On October 28th, 2005, the Honourable Geoff Regan, Minister of Fisheries & Oceans Canada (DFO), traveled to Sable Island in a Canadian Coast Guard helicopter. The helicopter first landed at West Light where Mr. Regan and his party visited the facilities used by DFO seal researchers and their Dalhousie University colleagues. An hour later, the helicopter arrived at the Sable Island Station.
