Kestrels have two dark spots on the back of the neck, and when viewed from the rear, the spots look very much like a pair of eyes. After a while on the bone pile, the Kestrel floundered on the ground again. She clearly needed better care (and far better food) than could be provided on the Island. On September 22nd, eleven days after being found, the Kestrel was taken to the mainland on a fixed-wing flight, and the next day she was delivered to the Dartmouth Veterinary Hospital. |
