Win a Visit to Sable Island!  Read by the Sea, Nova Scotia’s north shore literary festival, is offering this chance through their 2008 fundraising raffle.

Greetings to Everyone!

For those who have always wished to visit this fabled island…

Read by the Sea, a one-day literary festival which happens every July in River John, Nova Scotia, is offering raffle tickets on a trip to Sable Island this August 25th, 2008 (weather dependent).  250 tickets have been sold already, meaning there are only 100 left for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. The two winning tickets will be drawn at Read by the Sea on July 19th by Susan Tooke, illustrator of the award winning children's book  “Free As the Wind”.

The winners, and there are four because each ticket is for two people, will be treated to a night at the Hilton Garden Inn the day before departure, round trip flight to Sable Island, a gourmet lunch along with an orientation to Sable by the island's superintendent, Gerry Forbes, and a walkabout with the resident biologist, Zoe Lucas.

If you would like to purchase a raffle ticket, you can buy one in person at Hanna's Books (902-657-2024), Main Street, Tatamagouche, NS or, send a $50. check made out to Read by the Sea to:
