Summer Solstice 2006:

June 21, 9:26 am local time, 12:26 GMT.

Although the first day of summer is the longest “day” of the year in the Northern Hemisphere, on Sable Island the sun was barely visible. The temperature peaked at 13°C, the sky was overcast, and winds were southwesterly at 12 knots. With the southwesterly flow of moist air, fog persisted on the island for most of the day.

Greetings, and best wishes for fair weather and a peaceful summer, to Sable Island’s friends and to all visitors to the Green Horse Society website.
