Passive air samplers (PAS) at the Sable Island Station, used in a study of chemical contaminants in the atmosphere of North America. This installation was one of 40 air sampling stations established north-south from the Arctic to Central America and east-west from Newfoundland to Vancouver Island. The study, carried out during summer 2000 to summer 2001, detected high concentrations of a banned insecticide in the atmosphere of Sable Island. |
