In June 2003, the Sable Island Green Horse Society donated a collection of 66 skull and bone fragments of walrus Odobenus rosmarus to the Nova Scotia Museum (1747 Summer Street, Halifax, Nova Scotia B3H 3A6). The pieces had been collected on Sable Island during the last 15 years - most were found on the west spit by ZL during routine beach surveys underway since the mid-1980s.
