During April through May, many non-nesting birds arrive. These are birds that stop over on Sable Island during migration, or are blown off course or otherwise displaced from their normal migration route. Of the twenty plus sparrow species reported on the island, the White-throated Sparrow Zonotrichia albicollis is the most commonly seen.
