The treeless landscape and adjacent seascape are windswept and bleak, and reduced to varying shades of white, grey, blue, beige, and russet with occasional patches of colour in the lingering green of juniper, the red of cranberries and rose hips, and the black and purple of heavy mineral sands on the beach.
