There were three people aboard, and after spending some hours on the beach in the dark, they were picked up by members of a seismic crew and were brought to the Sable station. Coast Guard Canada was notified, and later in the day the three were transported to the mainland by an offshore industry helicopter. During the next few days station personnel removed hazardous material (e.g. fuel, oil and batteries) and equipment from the yacht. Salvaged supplies and equipment were returned to the skipper. |
