There are two helicopter landing pads on Sable Island, and they are used during routine operations and emergencies by Coast Guard, the Department of National Defence, and the offshore energy industry.  The Station provides power for the two helipads (lights, pumps etc), and staff maintains usability (i.e. clear away snow, debris) and provide logistical support.
