The anemometer tower in the AWOS field, and one of the two "cup" assemblies. The anemometer measures wind speed and direction. One of the two anemometers sends data to the AWOS console in the air chemistry building, and one sends data to the station office.  Each anemometer comprises three cups which catch the wind and the speed at which the unit spins indicates wind speed.
