Inside the dome - lightning stroke antenna on the right, GPS (which serves as an accurate timebase) on the left.  Data collected at Sable Island and other Canadian sites is transmitted live to Arizona where maps of lightning strikes are developed. The system, by combining data from several sites, can compute the location of a lightning strike to an accuracy of 500 meters.
