Burnable non-recyclables are incinerated (the incinerator is the white building). In the foreground, bundled and secured in cargo nets, are garbage and empties. Large items such as unservicable appliances, and collected broken glass, scrap metal and toxic materials (such as batteries and waste oil), as well as empty propane cylinders and gasoline drums, are taken off the island as "back-load" during the annual CCG sea-lift.
