Aerosol filter carousel. A weakness in current global warming studies is the failure to incorporate feedback effects. One of these involves the cooling and heating effects of aerosol particles. Little is known about their radiative properties, and the aerosols program addressed this deficiency by collecting detailed physical and optical measurements as well as chemically identifying the constituents of the aerosol particles.
