While technical support is provided by staff of the Sable Island Station, biannual maintenance and calibration of the monitoring equipment is carried out by personnel with the Environmental Assessment Branch of the Nova Scotia Department of Environment and Labour. The NSDEL inspector Johnny McPherson, brings to the island parts and filters, tools and diagnostic instrumentation.
