Air chemistry building. By 1990 the Sable Island Station was having difficulty finding space for the increasing amount of equipment associated with atmospheric research carried out on the island. The air chemistry building (the "NOAA Hut") - contributed by the USA's National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration - was constructed in 1991 to accommodate research instrumentation.
