Some “visits” are unintended, as was the case for these travelers who found themselves on Sable Island after a mechanical failure forced their helicopter to make an emergency landing on the Island’s helipad. They had some hours to wait before they were picked up by a second aircraft. During their wait, they were provided with a place to rest and relax, coffee and snacks at the Station, and then went for a walk with ZL. It was a cold windy day in February, but the “accidental tourists” were impressed by the Sable Island Station, met some horses, and visited the Island’s only tree.
