A view, looking to the northeast, across the south beach towards Wallace Lake. While helicopters can use one of the two helicopter landing pads on Sable Island, there is no permanent “landing strip” on the Island. Fixed-wing aircraft must land on the beach, somewhere on the south side of the Island between the Station and No3. Most often the landing area is in the vicinity of Wallace Lake.
