At the Thebaud location, during the same period, maximum wave heights approached 20m. As shown in the plot, data collection at Thebaud was interrupted on the 12th when exceptionally large breaking waves caused the mooring to fail, setting the buoy adrift. It was later retrieved on Sable Island.
