The “tank farm” at the Station, comprised of eight tanks each having a 45,000 litre capacity. A two-year supply of diesel fuel (also used for heating and vehicles) is maintained in case there is a lengthy delay before the next resupply. The tank farm, which is located at the north side of the Station, at slightly higher elevation, is provided with a spill-containment berm. Fuel for the generators is gravity fed into a smaller “day tank” located near the generator building.
