An array of small solar PV panels providing up to 6 amps on a clear day - enough to power a few energy-saving light bulbs, a radio and a lap top computer. Several of the field stations on Sable Island have used solar power for radios and lights. The two lower panels shown here were scavenged from abandoned marker buoys beached on the Island.
