They operate at about 80% of the maximum theoretical aerodynamic efficiency and generally produce low sound levels due to the proprietary Bergey SH3035 airfoil (Autofurl®). The latter was developed using computer modeling verified by wind tunnel testing by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory in Colorado.
