Various species of migrating and breeding birds are found in the vicinity of the wind turbines. Terns nest during mid-May to late July, and Sable’s second-largest colony, several hundred pairs, is located in and around the site. Throughout the season individuals (probably adults with nests nearby) perch on the various surfaces, particularly on the gin poles and fence posts.
