Instrumentation inside the COBRA aircraft

On June 3rd 2003, the COBRA aircraft passed over Sable Island at an altitude of 1 km. The NOAA COBRA (CO2 Budget and Regional Airborne) program, carried out in late May and June, measured concentrations of various greenhouse gases (e.g. CO2, SF6), and other pollutants such as ozone-depleting gases. Data collected are used to determine emission rates over central North America.
