Many structures in nature - cobwebs, tiny flowers of grass - are also efficient fog collectors. Moisture droplets accumulating on spiders' webs are a familiar sight. The rate at which both natural and man-made collectors accumulate water depends on both the water content of the fog, and the flow of fog across their surfaces, and the latter is determined by wind speed.
